NDT & Diagnostics |
Non-Destructive Testing and Diagnostics allow you to have a thorough understanding of your equipment’s condition from both a qualitative and quantitative point of view.
Visual inspection To assess and report on the overall status of your equipment. Thermography To detect temperature variations on the equipment surface. These variations may indicate an uneven wall thickness which in turn correspond to thinner laminates (due to corrosion), permeation by the process liquid into the laminate, delamination, blisters or other problems that may require a closer look from the inside. External Ultrasonic Inspection Ultrasonic NDT is used to measure thicknesses. Variations from the original wall thickness may be the result of corrosion, wear and/or operational condition upsets. Findings (data) from several locations on your equipment allow us to determine whether further investigation or repairs are urgent. Internal - Microscopic Analysis of the CB While the decreased thickness of the laminate is indicative of a problem area, the actual condition of the corrosion barrier defines the projected service life of your equipment. Bearing this in mind, it is always best to have a very close look at the CB (including its cracks, blisters, etc) before proceeding either with unnecessary repairs or inappropriate repair procedures. A microscopic analysis allows us to make a precise diagnostic of the situation and determine the best course of action to take. |
